Saudi security forces released a third reformist Tuesday, a day after the release of two others calling for political and economic reforms. Publisher Mohammed Said al-Tayyeb, one of the prime movers organizing petitions calling on the House of Saud to accelerate reform was released, a relative confirmed. "Al-Tayyeb was released without any charges and without having to sign any commitments," the relative said. Toufik al-Qasir and Sheikh Suleiman were released on Monday. Saudi security arrested six Saudi intellectuals on March 16 for signing petitions calling for wide political and economic reform in the kingdom. The three other Saudi reformists remain in custody.

On Saturday, Saudi Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdel Aziz denied there was foreign pressure on the kingdom to release the reformists, saying "the release was an internal decision".
